Project summary:

A chemical company noticed that a forty-two inch diameter section of wastewater pipe was experiencing corrosion and erosion while in service. Several through-wall failures had been observed in other sections of the pipe as well. The pipe was rebuilt internally, using a high-strength carbon fiber reinforcement system, then top-coated with a ceramic reinforced epoxy.
