Project summary:
A utility company in New York City was impacted by a large scale, city-wide initiative intended to reduce flood risk due to coastal storms and sea level rise. As part of this project, a repair system was needed for 16,000 linear feet of HPFF pipe-type transmission cables. Advanced FRP proposed a carbon fiber composite system that would be designed to take 100% of the internal pressure of the pipe and have an estimated service-life of 50 years.
