Concentrated sulfuric acid can quickly degrade concrete even when only small cracks in a coating are present. A power generation facility had through wall failures after a single surge event on this concrete acid tank. An acid resistant, carbon fiber reinforced lining system provides a long term repair that won’t crack even if the concrete underneath does.
