Project summary:

A concrete slab in a medical facility had to have a hole cut into it that would severe the structural rebar and weaken the structure. In order to avoid having the demo the entire slab, a civil engineer recommended using an external carbon fiber reinforcement. Advanced FRP was able to supply a high strength, uni-directional carbon fiber system to strengthen the concrete externally. The composite was adhered to the bottom side of the slab and more than compensated for the rebar that had to be cut.
