Project summary:

An inspector at a wastewater treatment plant discovered cracking and spalling concrete on a section of precast concrete ducting. Advanced FRP provided a solution that required the concrete to first be pressure washed. Any damage to the concrete would then be filled using an epoxy mortar. A bi-directional fabric was then used to provide strength in both the hoop and axial directions. The entire structure was wrapped in three layers of high strength carbon fiber to provide structural reinforcement and to protect it from any further external corrosion.
