Project summary:

Advanced FRP Systems continued work on a city-wide initiative by New York City to reduce flood risk due to coastal storms and sea level rise. As part of this project, the utility company took a proactive measure to protect their HPFF pipe-type cables by wrapping them with a carbon fiber composite system designed to withstand up to 1,000 psi of internal pressure. This allowed the pipes to be buried and not require any additional maintenance with an estimated service-life of 50 years.
